Welcome to Dr. Iwanoff’s dental office. I’m Sakina, your hygiene coordinator, front office staff, and the first person to welcome you to the practice. It is always my pleasure in helping to make your visit as smooth and as comfortable as possible. I look forward to meeting you during your first visit and hope to see you for all your future dental needs.
I joined the dental profession and have loved every minute of it. I made the decision that I wanted to be in the dental profession because I wanted to be a part of making someone smile. It gives me great joy to know that I can have a helping hand in helping someone gain confidence through their smile. A smile last’s a lifetime, everyone deserves a little sparkle in their smile!
I am currently a level II CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) and have also worked as an assistant and various other jobs, currently I enjoy my new and challenging role of hygiene coordinator. So what is a Hygiene coordinator?
Well, my job as a hygiene coordinator is to ensure you are able to get the most out of your visit and that everything is kosher from an insurance perspective. I ensure the hygienists have a booked schedule and that patients are in for the right procedures at the right times. I continuously strive to learn more about the practice.
Outside of the dental practice, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I have a passion for music and dance, I play variable instruments. I enjoy being active and participating in charitable events.
I am a big soccer fan and am excited about our new team the Ottawa Fury, hoping one day they will be part of the MLS and bring a trophy home. I also love football and watched our team the Ottawa RedBlacks bring the grey Cup home. I also love traveling and want to travel the world one day. I’m fascinated by languages, culture’s arts, and music. I love trying new foods, meeting new people. Variety is the spice of life!!
Prior to dentistry I worked in many different industries such as sales and marketing and have learned quite a bit. Being part of those industries help me in some aspects of being a hygiene coordinator. I tried the salon industry and wanted to become a hairstylist and makeup artist. I currently still participate in that field on a part time basis.
Benjamin Franklin once said: “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest”
I speak in English, French, Spanish, Moroccan, and Arabic. I love learning languages and have been enrolled to learn German and in the summer Mandarin. I believe that there is nothing more important than knowledge and strive every day to be a better person through knowledge and education. I truly look forward to meeting you.
And don’t forget to leave a little sparkle wherever you go!!
